Mike Casano is a drummer, DJ, producer, writer and educator. He is a 2000 graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mike has performed with great artists like The Drifters, Randy Brecker, Mike Mainieri, Uzo Aduba, Aubrey Logan, Ellis Hall, George Garzone and many others.
Mike has 20 years of experience playing drums and DJ at a wide variety of events including weddings, corporate functions, festivals, theaters, night clubs, restaurants and assisted living homes. Venues Mike has played include the Mansions in Newport, RI, Vets Theater in Providence, RI, Patriot Place, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Hampton Beach, Majestic Theatre Boston, The Cutting Room in NYC, The Intrepid in NYC, Hyatt in Atlanta, GA.
Mike's love for music developed at a very early age, and he has always enjoyed playing DJ and entertaining people. His natural ear for music and deep knowledge of various styles and genres allows him to put together signature mixes and playlists that are guaranteed to get the crowd going.
As a drummer, Mike plays often with the bands GQ & The Lady, Grover & CGI, Brass Force and many others. He has been featured in DRUM! Magazine and has articles published in Modern Drummer magazine. Mike writes and produces original music, including "We Got This" and "Play That Game" under the artist name My Key C. He co-leads a jazz/funk/latin big band with his father, trumpeter Joe Casano, called Mike & Joe's Big Band and also leads his own projects including the funk/neo soul group Players Only featuring vocalist Mark Love (Rick James). Mike released a live jazz/fusion album called Mike Casano Fusion Go Anywhere (Live) in 2019.
