Mike & Joe's Big Band was formed in 2014 by the father-son team of trumpeter Joe Casano (Aretha Franklin, Stan Kenton) and drummer Mike Casano (Uzo Aduba, Keegan-Michael Key). The band features some of the best musicians in the New England area performing a wide variety of music, ranging from old school big band and the Great American songbook to high powered jazz, funk, rock and latin.

        MJBB plays music from the books of some of the great big bands in American history, including Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Bob Mintzer, Thad Jones & Mel Lewis, and Count Basie. They also play fresh new arrangements written exclusively for the band and often feature vocalists as part of their performances.

        Over the years, MJBB has produced some special concerts featuring world renowned guest  jazz artists. In 2018, the band brought in legendary trumpeter Randy Brecker for a tremendous concert in Foxboro, MA. In 2019, the band performed the music of Steps Ahead with the great Mike Mainieri on vibes! Then in 2021, the band featured saxophone legends George Garzone and Frank Tiberi at the Spire Center in Plymouth, MA.

    MJBB has extensive experience playing in clubs, theaters, restaurants, outdoor concerts, schools, retirement communities and for special events, including the 100th anniversary of the Cape Cod Canal Gala. They cater the music that they play to excite any audience!
