Mike Casano Bio
Mike Casano is a drummer, DJ, producer, writer and educator. A 2000 graduate of Berklee College of Music, Mike's versatile style and reliable groove enables him to perform with great artists as Keegan-Michael Key, Uzo Aduba, The Drifters, Randy Brecker, Mike Mainieri, George Garzone, Ellis Hall, Debo Ray, Victor Wooten, Mike & Joe's Big Band, Mark Egan, Mike Casano Fusion, My Key C, Brass Force, New England Philharmonic and many others. He has opened for Brandi Carlile, Blood Sweat & Tears and Steve Sweeney. In his Modern Drummer Legends book, Steve Smith called Mike "an excellent drummer". Mike is also a full service DJ and emcee with extensive experience providing entertainment for all occasions.
Mike was featured in DRUM! magazine and has written articles for Modern Drummer magazine. He wrote and released a book called Rolls In Time and also provides instructional content through his Barn Drummer website. Mike also leads and writes music for original projects such as My Key C and Mike Casano Fusion. Mike co-wrote the theme songs for the Ronnie Mund Block Party (Howard Stern) and the Planet Mikey Show (WEEI Boston sports radio/podcast).
Mike has 26 years of experience playing drums and serving as the DJ and emcee at a wide variety of events including weddings, corporate functions, school dances, house parties, festivals, theaters, night clubs, restaurants and assisted living homes. Venues Mike has played include the Mansions in Newport, RI, Vets Theater, Patriot Place, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Hampton Beach, Majestic Theatre Boston, The Cutting Room, Groove and the Intrepid in NYC, Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA.
Mike's love for music developed at a very early age, and he has always enjoyed playing DJ and entertaining people. His natural ear for music and deep knowledge of various styles and genres allows him to put together signature mixes and playlists that are guaranteed to get the crowd going for any occasion.
